History

1997
In 1997, MODELLISTA was born as a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, having the mission to deliver customized cars to customers with design and speed that cannot be realized by the manufacturer itself. Since its birth, the MODELLISTA brand has never compromised design and quality and aims to meet the expectations of customers.

CHAPTER 01:
Birth of MODELLISTA

From a desire to establish in Japan the car customization culture that had become popular in Europe, MODELLISTA was born as a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation. At the beginning, we customized base vehicles and sold them as completed cars, aiming to foster new business (developing the car customization market) that could not be realized by Toyota as a manufacturer.

PX-01

First completed car for MODELLISTA based on the HILUX SURF: Powerful full-metal flare with sporty four round headlights and large fog lamps

1998

PX-12 "Napoli"

Lovely looks and classical bumper styling with wood pattern inner decoration featuring the theme of "retro fashion," as bold change of styling from the COROLLA II

1999

ALTEZZA QUALITAT

The pursuit of driving and functionality for sporty-minded young people: Featuring a special body kit and accessories including a special front grille and alloy wheels for sophisticated, elegant styling

2000

CASERTA

A midship convertible with two seats based on the MR-S for mature adults: Styling with a Latin taste, plus an obsession with driving performance (Limited production of 150 cars)

2001

VM180 “ZAGATO”

Elegant styling based on the MR-S and designed by the famous Italian carrozzeria "ZAGATO", fitted with a coordinated interior and tuned suspension (Limited production of 100 cars)

CHAPTER 02:
Launch of MODELLISTA brand customized parts

In addition to selling completed cars, MODELLISTA launched customized parts. Through the sales of parts combining in-house design and outside brands, we built a foundation for the customization market for today's standard body kits, alloy wheels and tire sets, mufflers, and other accessories.

2000

bB "STREET BILLET"

An American style featuring a billet grille and a two-stage fog lamp system that enjoyed popularity in the aftermarket parts world at that time: Special colors for seats and door trim skins further enhanced the stylish design. Also, unprecedented campaigns such as the exhibition of the customized bB at TOKYO AUTO SALON in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation before launch made it a hot topic.

2001

NOAH MODELLISTA Version.

MODELLISTA appeared in a catalogue issued by Toyota Motor Corporation and was launched as customization parts that were available from dealers together with new cars. The NOAH MODELLISTA Version made customization more familiar in Japan.

2002

CALDINA MODELLISTA Version.

MODELLISTA offered a wide choice of accessories that progressively evolved the Toyota CALDINA sports wagon. The lineup contained the standard body kit as well as a Bilstein suspension kit, sports muffler, and other accessories that increased driving performance.

2003

WISH "AERO TOURER"

MODELLISTA made the front styling of the new WISH model sportier, introduced at TOKYO AUTO SALON 2003, and this became a big topic. The lineup contained a sports muffler and lowered suspension.

2004

MARK X "Vertiga"

This was launched as a completed car with a sporty and dynamic exterior. In pursuit of driving, this masterpiece was also fitted with special suspension. Later, a Special Version was released, featuring a supercharger and a special interior.

2005

ALPHARD MODELLISTA Version.

The lineup contained special body kits as well as alloy wheels, a sports muffler, and special brake pads. The minivan had both strength and elegant sportiness, for mature adults.

2006

AURIS MODELLISTA Version.

The concept was that of a "Progressive Hatch MODELLISTA VERSION." The sharp lines flowing from the front to the side and the rear highlighted both a sense of speed and wideness. The near-futuristic design elevated the vehicle to the status of “hot hatch of the new generation.”

2007

LAND CRUISER
MODELLISTA Version.

The LAND CRUISER is designed for a wide range of use scenarios, from urban to off-road. In line with the "big urban cruiser" concept, the MODELLISTA version featured body kits, alloy wheels, and a sports muffler to produce an overwhelming presence in a wide range of use scenarios, especially in urban areas.

CHAPTER 03:
Breakthrough of parts customization

Following the big success of the ALPHARD/VELLFIRE and PRIUS (30 series), a demand for "distinguishing my car from others" increased, and this expanded the need for customization. Ultimately, six types of body kits were released for the PRIUS, marking exceptional success.

2008

ALPHARD MODELLISTA Version.

The development concept was: "Brilliance, magnificence, beauty" as an unrivaled brilliance, envy-inducing form. The plating decoration arranged on the front and sides added a premium-quality appearance to the vehicle. This pioneered minivan customization.

2009

PRIUS MODELLISTA Version.

To be suitable for a hybrid vehicle, the lineup enhanced progressiveness and took aerodynamics into account. MODELLISTA featured its full-bumper-type "AERO TOURER KIT," which dynamically changed the original car’s appearance, with MODELLISTA Version body kit sets. Thanks to exceptional popularity, six types of body kits were ultimately released.

2010

NOAH MODELLISTA Version.

To match the concept of a "Classy urban liner with massiveness created by an elegant shape," the lineup contained a variety of exterior parts featuring plating decoration. The MODELLISTA version featured a sports muffler and a sports suspension kit in pursuit of driving pleasure.

2011

CAMRY MODELLISTA Version.

In conjunction with a full model change, MODELLISTA released its first line of CAMRY customization items. For unique styling, the lineup ranged from body kits with glittering plated side moldings that created a higher-quality appearance to brown woodgrain-pattern panels for an advanced modern interior.

2012

TOYOTA86 MODELLISTA Version.

The concept was "Stylish Motion - Futuristic, dynamic and stylish style." The lineup consisted of a body kit and alloy wheels for urban styling, with ambitious parts that breathed new life into sports cars.

2013

LAND CRUISER PRADO
MODELLISTA Version.

In line with the concept of a "STYLISH URBAN CRUISER," the lineup contained a body kit that changed the impression of the front end mask for urban and premium quality, along with a sports muffler.

2014

CAMRY MODELLISTA Version.

Two types of body kits featured sophisticated, intelligent premium quality and individuality. The front grille garnish added futuristic style, and it made the CAMRY an intelligent sedan creating charm for mature adults.

2015

PRIUS MODELLISTA Version.

MODELLISTA introduced two styles: ICONIC STYLE, which enhanced the characteristics of PRIUS, and UP-GRADE STYLE, for higher-grade premium style. LEDs built into the front spoiler and the fin antenna exhibited innovation.

2016

C-HR "BOOST IMPULSE STYLE"

The lineup contained a front spoiler featuring mechanical design and futuristic LED illumination, with side skirts in a sharp form, a sporty rear skirt that looked like a built-in muffler, and a front grille garnish adding accent to the front face.

2017

ALPHARD MODELLISTA Version.

In line with the concept of "Perfect Luxury," the lineup contained customization parts having a majestic massiveness suitable for top-of-the-line minivans.

2018

PRIUS "ICONIC STYLE"

ICONIC STYLE matched the progressiveness of hybrid customization, while ELEGANT ICE STYLE was designed for elegant, dressed-up styling. The accessories included a scuff plate with blue illumination, and the black seat cover was accented with red to enhance an emotional appearance.

2019

RAV4 MODELLISTA Version.

The concept here was "URBAN SOLID STRIDER." The dynamic shape enhanced the styling of the base vehicle and created a sophisticated urban SUV style together with plating decoration and LED illumination. In addition to the body kit, the Cool Shine Kit, which featured plating decoration that added brilliance to the front grille, the headlamps, and the back door, turned the base vehicle into a premium-quality aero-style SUV.

CHAPTER 04:
Global launch of the MODELLISTA brand toward becoming a lifestyle brand

We started full-scale global operations by developing parts exclusive to overseas and those for overseas production models, selling collaborative models with Seiko Watch and designing a cruiser in collaboration with TOYOTA MARINE as a lifestyle brand.

CHAPTER 03

2020

FORTUNER
MODELLISTA Version.

We started the full-scale launch of the MODELLISTA brand in the Kingdom of Thailand and had been actively marketing through mass media and TV commercials. In 2020, MODELLISTA launched body kits and accessories for four vehicle models.

2021

LAND CRUISER
MODELLISTA Version.

As the first MODELLISTA parts exclusive to overseas, the body kit and alloy wheels were launched for the new LAND CRUISER. We started full-scale operations in the Middle East and Russia.

2022

SEIKO SELECTION
MODELLISTA Special Edition

In collaboration with Seiko Watch, MODELLISTA designers created a design that incorporated Seiko functionality and stipulated emotion.

PONAM-31 Z Grade

MODELLISTA took charge of designing "PONAM-31 Z Grade," planned and developed by TOYOTA MARINE. The cruiser featured a luxurious, elegant appearance in line with the concept of "Luxury Party Style & Workcation Utility."
